Richard L. Rolls, 74, of Russell, PA., died on Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Warren, PA. He was born February 12, 1945 in Punxsutawney, PA., and son of the late Silas Alvin and Sara Luellen Armstrong Rolls. He was a Russell area resident, since 1976. Richard was a 1963 graduate of Punxsutawney High School and earned his Bachelors’ of Science degree from Mansfield University and his Masters’ degree from Edinboro University. He was a school teacher with Eisenhower High School for 20 years, retiring from teaching in 1986. He then was instrumental in bringing the Subway Sandwiches Franchise to the Jamestown, N.Y., area. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, Jamestown, N.Y. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Richard will always be remembered for being a good friend and a kind “dude.” He especially loved being a grandfather and enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was sealed to his wife, Jean, for all time and eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Washington Temple on June 17, 1975.

Richard is survived by his wife, Jean Elizabeth Duncan Rolls whom he married July 5, 1969 in Spring Township, Perry County, PA., 3 Children – Daniel Richard Rolls and his wife, Jennifer of Littleton, Co., and their children, Hadley, Emmerson and Pilar Rolls, Priscilla Jean Newbold and husband, Gregory of Charlotte, N.C. and their children, Elliot, Xander, Lincoln, and Drake Newbold,

Olivia Lynne Cramer of Russell, PA., and her children, Wesley and Treva Cramer.

2 Brothers – Eugene Rolls and wife, Gail of Littlestown, PA., John Rolls and wife, Priscilla of Wake Forest, N.C., 1 Sister – Janet Miller and husband, Culver of Forest, VA., several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Brother – James A. Rolls, 2 Sisters – Marian Stamler, E. Joan James.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 6 to 8 P.M. and on Monday, November 18, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 851 Forest Avenue, Jamestown, N.Y. from 9:00 to 10:00. A.M. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 A.M.
