Sheila M. Salerno, 74, of Warren, PA, formerly of Sheffield, PA, died on Monday September 15, 2025, in the Lutheran Home at Kane, after an extended illness.
She was born in Kane, PA, on July 23, 1951, the daughter of the late Harry and Florence Eck Hilyer. She was a graduate of Sheffield High School, Class of 1970. Sheila has been a resident of Warren since 1975. She retired from Whirley Drinkworks and then went to work for the Warren Walmart. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her world, and she enjoyed time spent at the casino.
On October 30, 1971, she married Marc A. Salerno, and they spent 50 years together before he passed on September 9, 2022.
Sheila is survived by her two loving children: Marc A. Salerno II and wife Georgia and Cheri Salerno and Greg Davis both of Warren, PA; three grandchildren, Sabrina Lindstrom and her husband Nate, and Justin and Jared Spencer; siblings, Kay O’Rourke and husband Stanley of Blue Jay, PA, Harry S. Hilyer Jr of Sheffield, PA, Terri Moore and husband Tom of Sheffield, PA, and brother in law, Terry Salerno and wife Nancy of Warren, PA.
A Memorial luncheon will be held on Sunday October 5, 2025, at 1:00pm at the Sheffield Vets Club, 1 Austin Hill Rd. Sheffield PA 16347. So sad to hear of Sheila’s passing. She was one the most wonderful people I have ever known,always funny and happy. We worked together at Whirley at for years and she always made the day a little better, she will be missed.
