Rebecca Lee McKown Petruney, 80, passed away, Wednesday morning, January 5, 2022, at Warren General Hospital, Warren, PA.
She was born on February 17, 1941, daughter of the late Sherman Elwood and Ardath Theresa Lundquist McKown. Rebecca was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church of Sheffield, PA., where she served as office secretary and treasurer for many years.
She is survived by her brother, Sherman Richard McKown of Sheffield, PA., and her aunt, Betty McKown Gustafson Mailhot and her husband, Paul of Louisville, KY., many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Rebecca was preceded in death by her sisters, (twins) Judith Marie McKown Blum and Patricia Ann McKown Peterson, brother-in-law, Ronald C. Blum, and sister-in-law, Glendora McKown. There will be no visitation hours observed. Private interment will be in Sheffield Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Sad to read this news. She was a close childhood friend of my mom and aunt. They had kept in touch. Was looking for her phone number to tell her of their passing and found the obituary. Three childhood friend and they passed within days and months of each other. Their connection throughout life whether near or far is a beautiful testament to a bond formed in childhood. Becky was loved and remembered by her friends.
