Raymond E. Lowe Jr., 73, of Warren, PA, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House, after a brief battle with cancer.
He was born in Warren, Pa on April 9, 1950, the son of the late Raymond E. Lowe M.D. and Helen Knapp Lowe. Ray was a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1968, he then graduated from Marietta College in Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in economics. He retired from United Refining and from the Boilermakers Union. After his retirement, Ray drove for Warren Bus Lines, Brinks, Bollinger Enterprises, and the Barber Institute.

Ray was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Warren, where he had served as a eucharistic minister, and was a former member of the building committee. He was also a former member of the Warren Sports Boosters, Warren Youth Baseball and Softball, building committee member for the newest addition of the YMCA, and the committee for the War Memorial Field. In his youth he was a member of the Warren Boys Choir.

On March 3, 1979, he married the former Susan P. Whyte in the Interfaith Chapel at the Warren State Hospital, they spent 44 loving years together.

In addition to his loving wife Susan, Ray is survived by two children, Emily Lowe Best and husband Christopher of Victoria, BC, and Drew M. Lowe of Allentown, PA; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Libby), George, and Evelyn (Evie) Best; two sisters, Patricia Lowe Ritchie of Gettysburg, PA, and Sue Anne Lowe Davis and husband Philip of Reno, NV; brother-in-law, James J. Whyte of Youngsville; sister in law, Rebecca Whyte of Abbotsford, BC; he is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his stepmother, Molly (Spinney) Lowe, In Laws, Beatrice L. and Joseph L. Whyte, and brothers in law, Richard J. Ritchie and Joseph A. Whyte.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St. Warren, on Friday July 28, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Memorial services will follow in the funeral home at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Stephen Schreiber, pastor, officiating.
