Nancy Jones Oliphant, 84, formerly of Russell PA, died peacefully Monday evening, April 19, 2021 at the Rouse Home, Youngsville PA, after an extended illness. Nancy was born October 16, 1936 in Warren PA. She was the youngest of 15 children of the late Lloyd B. and Ella M. Lesser Jones. She lived in Overland Park and Leawood, Kansas and Houston, Texas before moving to Russell PA in 1987.

Nancy was a 1954 graduate of Sheffield High School and was a realtor and broker in Kansas. She served as President of the Warren County Historical Society and member of the First United Methodist Church where she helped operate the Church’s Sharing Place for over 10 years. She also volunteered for Meals on Wheels. She was very active and instrumental in starting a PEO Chapter in Warren and the Daughters of American Colonists.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Edgar Oliphant, Jr., whom she married in 1967 at the Sheffield United Methodist Church; 4 children, Lisa Oliphant of Deerfield Beach, Florida, S. Craig and Jay Oliphant and wife, Linda, of Gravette, Arkansas, Andrea Evans and husband, Mark of Olathe, Kansas, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Bev Hoden and husband, George of Englewood, Florida, Bonnie Wolfe of Southern Pines, NC, and Anita Jones of Alexandria, VA. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by 8 sisters – Leah Miley, Elaine Rader, Dee Reiff, Janyce Bunk, Ethelyn (Eppie) McGuire Jorn, Beatrice Host, Vida Jean Stout, Marilyn Rose and 3 brothers – Leonard, Bruce and Robert Jones.

A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Jones Family plot in Sheffield Cemetery.
