Martha “Marty” Goodman, 75, of Warren, PA., died suddenly Tuesday, October 29, 2019 after suffering an apparent heart attack. She was born in Corry, PA., on December 7, 1942 to the late Paul E. and Bertha Korb Goodman. She graduated from Corry Area High School with high honors in 1961. Worked in Corry and in January 1963 moved to Warren, PA. and worked for New Process Company, now known as Blair until 2006.

First Presbyterian Church of Warren was an important part of her life. She had been a Deacon and Elder for several terms, serving on various committees. She worked with the youth and had taught Sunday School, Youth Club on Wednesdays after school.

She was Junior and Senior High Fellowship Advisor, enjoyed trips and other experiences with them. She ushered for over 35 years, helped with funeral services. After retiring she did home visitation with her ministers. She had served on the Y.W.C.A. Board of Directors for many years, several as secretary. She was on the board when they left the national organization and became the Jefferson DeFrees Center, which enabled them to expand their programs. Marty was a board member of the Community Concerns Group home for Adults from 1983 where she had various offices, including being President of the board.

Warren Concert Association was also a group she enjoyed being on the board for almost 2 decades. She met many performers and entertainers from around the world.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, and making candy which she shared with many friends and neighbors.

When her mother was at the Rouse Home she visited every day for over 3 years, after she passed, she visited every Wednesday, visiting friends and persons who had no family nearby, one for 9 years until she died at the age of 101.

She is survived by her two brothers, Joseph Goodman and wife Sharon, of Lancaster, PA, and Paul E. Goodman and wife, Debbie of Morrison, CO, her sister, Paula Summa of Archbold, Ohio, several nieces and nephews and her sister’s Yorkie, Bitsy.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at First Presbyterian Church, 300 Market Street, Warren, PA. memorial parlors, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rebecca Taylor, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Corry, PA.
