Uncle Lynn, aka “Uncle Yank,” was a special uncle in my life. He was a younger brother of my fathers and was only twelve years old when I was born, thus being almost another sibling to me. He was a bachelor for many years and spent alot of time in our home for holidays etc. He had been a proud US Marine having served his country during the Viet Nam War. He loved to visit and stay with my parents during hunting season. The guys bonded during that time of the year and enjoyed the memories made. In later years as he lived in personal care I loved our phone conversations. He always called after getting cards etc in the mail, thanking me for the money to purchase his Dr Pepper. We would reminisce about the past and he always said he felt he had 9 lives. He felt blessed to have lived longer in years than his father and most of his siblings. I have several conversations saved on my phone that I will cherish. He always ended saying something in Vietnamese and a laugh. He had the “Lines” laugh that was contagious. God speed Uncle Yank as you are reunited with your loved ones gone before you. May God hold you in the palm of His hand forever until we meet again. Love, your niece Diane
