LuAnn Reichard Munksgard, 65, of Warren, PA received her eternal salvation in Jesus on January 25, 2026 at UPMC Hamot surrounded by her family, after a heartbreaking illness.
The beloved daughter of the late Connie Mauk Reichard and Gerald (Jerry) Reichard, LuAnn was born on December 08, 1960 in Warren, PA. She was a proud graduate of the Warren Area High School Class of 1979 and loved planning her class reunions and staying in touch with her classmates.
On October 10, 1981, she married Dennis Munksgard at Grace United Methodist Church, in Warren. They spent 44 loving years together, especially their impromptu day trips exploring God’s creation together.
LuAnn worked in the community prior to dedicating her life to raising their two daughters, Danielle and Shallin. She planned amazing vacations for her family so they could explore our beautiful country together and make lifelong memories. LuAnn’s love language was food, providing delicious meals for her family and loved ones and is known for her canning, family picnic dishes and so many beloved recipes you had to make with her to learn how to recreate them. Spending time with family and friends filled her heart with joy.
LuAnn loved God, her family and her country. She was an active member of First Methodist Church of Warren, PA where she loved to sing in the choir; a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution; she passionately served the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania for over 20 years, retiring in summer 2025.
Her greatest joy was loving “her babies”, her grandchildren. Grammy video called them daily and visited them as often as she could – she didn’t want to go one day without experiencing their love. She is the best Grammy they could have ever had.
Surviving is her husband, Dennis; daughters Danielle Munksgard, and partner Nathaniel Borsh of Pittsburgh, PA; and Shallin Shelby and husband, United States Army Major Timothy Shelby, of Fort Eustis, VA; three adored grandchildren Aliza, Landon and Anastasia; her two cherished dogs, Opie and Oreo; and many cousins, friends and loved ones.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. Additional visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at First Methodist Church, 200 Market Street, Warren, PA. from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. A Celebration of LuAnn’s life will follow at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dr. Mark Hecht, Pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of the Ascension in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, PA. My condolences to the family and friends. I was honored to get to know LuAnn in Junior and Senior High School. Loved her enthusiasm toward life and people. Sending best wishes as you navigate the difficult road of life without LuAnn’s physical presence being here.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We were classmates since junior high, neighbors and friends. She will forever be in our hearts.
Luann and I were like the sisters with whom we were not born. She was the sweetest, kindest soul always thinking of her family and others. If there was a need to be filled, she was there. So many beautiful memories to cherish. No doubt she is at peace with her God in heaven. I will miss her dearly.

My thoughts and Prayer are with your Family at this time
I will always remember the caring, calm nature LuAnn brought to her work. She had such compassion for others and helped so many in the years I worked with her. Blessed to have known her. Prayers of comfort for her family.
To LuAnn’s dear family, I am so sorry for this unbelievable loss. I haven’t seen LuAnn for years, but the last time I saw her, we spoke briefly, and I wished we would have kept in touch over these years. We were close friends in middle school and the early years of high school. I always knew she was in my corner. She was fun, beautiful, kind, good and someone you knew you could always trust. She made our class great. I always remember Hammond Street. She loved her parents and family in a way that I understand. We were so blessed. LuAnn always had a smile for her friends and she always had a sparkle in her beautiful eyes. Reading the beautiful obituary above, I am so grateful, but not surprised to know of her deep faith, her love of music and singing in church, and her love of our country. We remained kindred spirits.
There are no words to bring the comfort you seek, other than that God is in this with you and knowing that LuAnn is now always closer in spirit to you at every moment, though you cannot feel her arms around you or kiss her cheek. She will be your great intercessor and God knows what He is about. This is likely not His plan but He has allowed it and can make beauty from ashes. May He continue to bless you and give you solace in these days and the years ahead. And girls, your Mom will help you make sense of this. Her life has changed not ended, as you well know. And love never ends, especially one this strong and powerful. Much love to you all.
Sending heartfelt condolences to Denny, Danielle, and Shallin. May you find comfort in wonderful family memories.
I can’t be sad that LuAnn is with Jesus, but I can be sad she was taken so soon! I am so sorry for your loss. She loved her family and those grandbabies so so much! It breaks my heart that she will not be able to love on those babies but her memory can be kept alive through all of you so they never forget their Grammy!!! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you! Sending hugs and prayers to you all!
I met LuAnn at the Treasurer’s Conference and enjoyed talking with her, what an elegant and lovely lady. She is the type of grandmother I aspire to be with my own grandchildren. You have been truly blessed to have her in your family, thank you for sharing her with the rest of us. My prayers are with you as you adapt to her loss.
Our deepest sympathy to you all. We pray your memories and fun times as a family will help you through this difficult time. LuAnn was loved and will be dearly missed.
Denny and Family our papers are with you she was a wonderful person. And will be missed.
