Laura K. Kelly, 83, of Warren, PA. and formerly of Tidioute, PA., died at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA., on Friday, March 17, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born December 5, 1939, in Punxsutawney, PA. to the late Thomas M. and Elva R. Buterbaugh Kirkwood. She was a resident of Tidioute, PA. for 55 years and a 1958 graduate of Tidioute High School. Laura was employed with the Blair Corporation for 28 years as a seamstress retiring in 1999. She was a former member of St. John’s R.C. Church, Tidioute, PA. and a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, Warren, PA. She was a member of the Tidioute Veterans of Foreign War Club Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid reader. She is remembered for always putting her family at the center of her life, she loved being a wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three children – Kathleen Jones and husband, Ray, Margaret L. “Peggy” Kelly and husband, Bob, all of Warren, PA., Joseph M. Kelly and wife, Beth, of Lancaster, PA., 8 Siblings – Thomas Kirkwood of Dubois, PA., Rita Ishman and husband, Neil of Emlenton, PA., Margie Bunce of Virginia, David Kirkwood and wife, Sandi of Murfreesboro, TN, Dorothy Ishman and husband, Jim of Reynoldsville, PA., Helen Shawley of Milesburg, PA., Linda Shields and husband, David of Brookville, PA., Charles Kirkwood of Summerville, PA., 4 Grandchildren – Christopher Jones of Phoenix, AZ., and Michelle Jones of Miami, FL., Rachel Vanguilder of Youngsville, Pa., Emily Wadlow of Hermitage, PA., 9 Great Grandchildren – Nicholas, Madeline and Michael Jones, Madison and Brody Vanguilder, Joey and Jack Wadlow, Carter Borland, Shaylnn Shawl, several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph P. Kelly whom she married November 1, 1958, in Tidioute, PA. who died October 15, 2012, 1 Son – Denny “Shipwreck” Kelly who died August 9, 2001, 1 Sister – Elva Hamilton 1 granddaughter – Chasity Kelly.

Friends may call at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church gathering space, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., on Thursday, March 23, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. followed by a memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Swedish Union Cemetery, Tidioute, PA.
