Kay B. Van Ord, 89, of Russell, PA, passed away on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Rouse Warren County Home, Youngsville, PA.
She was born in Warren, PA on January 7, 1936, the daughter of the late Emmet E. and Violet Saylor Hutchens. Kay was a graduate of Warren High School Class of 1953. She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, especially enjoyed Christmas time, and was a den mother with the local Cub Scouts. Kay was a member of the Lander Community Church, where she sang with the choir, and was a member with the Eastern Stars, Hilltop Spinners and the Warren Philomel Club. Kay loved to attend the Conewango Auction on Tuesday nights.
She was married on April 27, 1957, to Stewart R. Van Ord, who preceded her in death on March 18, 2018.
Kay is survived by her 3 loving children, Mark Van Ord and wife Suzanne of Russell, PA, Raymond Van Ord and wife Lori of Clarendon, PA, and Cindy Scheid and husband Eric of Warren; five grandchildren, Adam Van Ord and wife Mollie, Jaron Van Ord and wife Ally, Ben Van Ord and wife Shiella, Cassie Van Ord, and Joel Van Ord and wife Hannah; 8 great grandchildren, Gunnar and Juliana, Isla and Talon, Jacob and Aiden, Henry and Audrey; and one sister Judith McCune and husband Tom of Southport NC. Several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St., Warren, PA., on Friday, January 9, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Members of Eastern Star will conduct their funeral ritual at the funeral home at 5:45 P.M. additional visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at Lander Community Church, when a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Dale McMillen, officiating. Private burial will be held in Oakland Cemetery. I was so sorry to read about the passing of Kay. Stuart and her were always so kind and good. She showed me how to weave. Stuart would press apples for us. I’ll never forget their kind of show to my mom and dad when they were sick they would stop and visit them or bring some vegetables. You’re so blessed to have such kind parents.
