Jerry Phillip Waite, 75, of Warren, went home to his lord peacefully on Sunday April 3, 2022, in his home.

Jerry was born in Corry, PA, on August 6, 1946, the son of the late Robert J. and Victoria F. (Wojciechowski) Waite. He graduated from Corry Area High School, Class of 1964. Jerry attended Monterey Peninsula College, Brookdale Community College, and took classes from El Paso Community College, and the University of Los Angeles and Jamestown Community College.

Jerry joined the United States Army in 1965, and retired in 1992 as the Directorate Sergeant Major, Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, US Army Personnel Command. He was a graduate of the US Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 31), and a recipient of the Legion of Merit. He was a life member of the American Legion, the Association of the US Army, the Disabled American Veterans; Veterans of Foreign Wars; Veterans of the Vietnam War; Vietnam Veterans of America, John Gertsch Memorial Association; Knights of Columbus; American Radio Relay League, and the National Rifle Association.

He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Chong S. Waite (Youmghui), of Warren; two brothers, James R. Waite and wife Deanna, and David J. Waite all of Corry; and one sister, Gail L. Kirsch and husband Shawn of Russell.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters, Terrie A. Gage, Connie M. McCray, and Boni M. Bowley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 8, 2022, at 11:00 am in Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 11 Russell St. Warren, with the Rev. Stephen Schreiber, officiating. A viewing will be held on Friday from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the church. Burial with full military honors will be held in St. Elizabeth’s Cemetery, Corry, PA. The Donald E.
