James F. Atkins, 75, of Clarendon, PA., died Saturday, July 24, 2021. James was born January 5, 1946, in Buffalo, N.Y. He was the son of Raymond Keith and Erna D. Atkins. James was a longtime Warren area resident. James graduated with honors from Jamestown Community College in arts, ion May 20, 1978, and he earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from New York State University Fredonia campus. He had served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War, serving from June 10, 1968, to April 1, 1972, as an aviation warfare systems operator. He earned a National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation. He was owner and operator of Atkins Concrete, for several years, retiring on May 1, 2001.

James had served on the board of directors of human society, was a member of Dunkirk yacht club.

James is survived by his sister-in-law, Diana Bailey of Warren, PA., Niece – Diane Stromdahl, 4 Nephews – Dwayne Bailey, William Bailey, Arthur Bailey, Corey Bailey.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Ardith McCool Atkins whom he married August 12, 1968, who died December 21, 2020, 1 Stepson – Michael Albaugh, Brother-in-law, Arthur Bailey.

A celebration of life for Ardie & Jim, will be held at Chapman Dam State Park, Clarendon, PA., on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at Pavillion #4.
