James D. Spencer, 76, of Barnes, PA., died Tuesday evening, August 30, 2022, at Kane Lutheran Home, Kane, PA., after an extended illness. Jim was born May 29, 1946, in Trumans, Forest County, PA. He was the son of the late Adam and Grace Ewings Spencer. He was a lifelong Sheffield area resident. Jim attended East Forest High School and had served with the U.S. Army as a SP5, during the Vietnam War.

He was employed with Osram Sylvania in the wire drawer department, for 33 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Jim is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mavis Ralston Spencer whom he married November 23, 1968, at Barnes United Methodist Church, 1 Son – Scott Spencer and wife, Cheri of Barnes, PA.,

6 Siblings – Sue Jensen of Warren, PA., Jane Harriger of Clarendon, PA., Mary Grubbs, Kathy Shaffer, Jack Spencer all of Sheffield, PA., Marge Lewis of Brookston, PA., several nieces, and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Molly Spencer, a sister, June Miller and 2 brothers, Dick and Bob Spencer.

Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday September 7, 2022, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm, where a celebration of life will follow at 6:00 pm in the funeral home, with the Rev.
