Donald Anthony Corey passed away with his wife by his side early Thursday morning, August 31, 2023, after a more than five- and one-half year courageous battle with esophageal and stomach cancer. He never gave up trying to beat it.

Don was born in Warren, PA, on November 11, 1950 (Veterans’ Day), to Edwin Corey and Ann Graziano Corey. Don was a graduate of Warren High School, Class of 1968; a Sergeant E-5, U.S. Army, Vietnam; graduated from JCC and attended Kennedy Western University. He was a past member of the Five County Consortium; Career Center Advisory Board; Warren Forest High Ed Council; Crimestoppers, Exchange Club; State Trustee BPOE. He worked at National Forge Company; Lorangers in Warren and Hungary; Torpedo Wire; Dalcor Associates which he founded; Sancor in Budapest Hungary; and Commonwealth of PA Department of Corrections, SCI-Cambridge Springs from which he retired as Director of Human Resources. He was very involved in Warren Softball for many years. He coached soccer and enjoyed working with young people.

After retirement, he was a self-taught woodworker. He made beautiful pens, bowls, and other useful items. On September 18, 1981, he married Paula Barber. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by two sons Eric (Kim) Corey and Paul (Alicia) Corey; two grandsons Grady and Colton and one granddaughter Attie; sister Deborah of Florida; brother Tom (Dorothy) of California and Bill (Lori) of Warren and sister-in-law Grace Corey of Titusville. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his half-brother Bob and his wife Marvel Corey; his half-brother Jack; his half-sister Bev and her husband Clayton Marvin and his youngest son Blake Langdon Corey. He considered his sons and grandchildren as his greatest accomplishment. They brought him his greatest pride and joy. When he had his health, he attended all their activities.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East St., Warren, on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 6th, 2023, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. W., Warren, at 1:30 PM with the Rev. Stephen Schreiber, officiating.
