Dominick Anthony DeMarco, 94, a resident of Tucson, AZ for 40 years, passed from this life on Sunday, January 5, 2020, after an extended illness. Dominick was born September 17, 1925 in Massena, NY to the late Joseph and Josephine Vescio DeMarco. He moved with his family to Warren, PA, in 1929 at the age of 4. He graduated from Warren High School, Warren, PA, Class of 1943. Dominick was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Navy on minesweeper USS Symbol. On August 20, 1949 he married Jenny Tassone at Holy Redeemer Church, Warren, PA. In 1951, they moved to Northeastern Ohio, after Dominick graduated from Edinboro State Teachers College. From 1954 to 1979, they lived in Ashtabula, OH, where Dominick was employed with Buckeye Local School District as a teacher and retired as a school administrator (principal). In the summer of 1979, they moved to Tucson, AZ. He taught again for Marana U.S.D from 1979-1989, before retiring.

Dominick is survived by his daughter, Diane Marie DeMarco and son, David Joseph DeMarco both of Tucson, AZ., brother – Frank P. DeMarco, Chatham, New Jersey, sister – Diana Pohlman of Ocala, Florida, sister-in-law, Mary Tassone Bobby of Jefferson, OH; and nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Jenny Tassone DeMarco who died November 14, 2014; brother- Fiorino R. DeMarco; sister- Sarah DeMarco Cullinan; sister- Rose Russo; sister- Genevieve Varassa; sister- Mary Kempton; and brother- Dr. Dominic Edward DeMarco.

Inurnment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Warren, PA.
A private memorial gathering will be arranged by the family. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through: Casa de la Luz Foundation/Casa de la Luz Hospice, Tucson, AZ.
