Demeyer Pearson, 92, a resident of the Rouse Suites, died Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Warren General Hospital. She was born June 11, 1929 in Kane PA and was the daughter of the late Eric and Irene Strand Tengstrand. Demeyer was a longtime Kane resident and also had resided in Warren and Youngsville PA.
She was a 1947 graduate of Kane High School and was employed by Quality Markets as a cashier for 13 years, working in the Youngsville and N. Warren stores. She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Warren where she was active with the Quilting Workshop, and a former member of Tabor Lutheran Church, Kane and Saron Lutheran Church of Youngsville.
Demeyer enjoyed music and playing the piano and violin. She quilted and sewed and had a pattern company with daughter Linda, wrote poetry and the family history, and was an avid gardener growing beautiful flowers and vegetables. She was a longtime Girl Scout leader.
She is survived by five children – Linda Eberl and husband Mark of Warren PA, Jim Pearson and wife Denise of Russell PA, Diane Danielson and husband Rodger of Warren PA, Joanne Pearson of Pittsfield MA, Lisa Johnson and husband Colin of Jamestown NY; brother Stentor Tengstrand and wife Rose of Horseheads NY, 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Demeyer was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Pearson whom she married September 9, 1950 at Tabor Lutheran Church, Kane, and sisters Jane Roe, Linnea Dunbar, Vivian Menteer and brother, Eric Tengstrand, Jr.
Friends may call at the First Lutheran Church, 109 W. Third Avenue, Warren PA on Friday, August 13, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
A memorial service will be conducted there at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Nancy Schwanke, officiating. Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane at a later date. Those wishing to place memorials may do so to First Lutheran Church or Rouse Estates, 207 Rouse Avenue, Youngsville PA 16371.
