To the entire Lucia family: Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of Joe. Joe was a friend and a Saint of a person. We grew up together on Walnut St. in the West End and thru first grade at McClintock and graduation at Warren High (Class of 1962). Rest In Peace my friend.
So sorry to read about Deacon Joseph Lucia’s passing. Fathet Tom Brown had let our parish know that he was ill . Our parish prayed for him. While I didn’t realize it, until after reading of his passing, he was my math teacher in high school at Oswayo Valley , in Shinglehouze ,Pa. Very fond memories of “Mr.Lucia”, a very good math teacher, and a man of God. May he rest in peace in the arms of our Lord.
I met D.J. at St. Joseph’s Church and followed him to Holy Redeemer Church. I helped him deliver communion at the Warren, where the residents thought the world of him. I watched him with his ups and downs with his health but he always maintained a positive spirit. I’m glad I was there to listen, at last Easter’s Vigil, his singing the proclamation of our risen Lord. He had a beautiful voice. D.J., you will be sorely missed!
So sorry to learn of Deacon Joe’s passing. My wife and I have fond memories of being in the Diocese of Erie’s Permanent Diaconate Formation Program with Joe all of those many years ago. Joe was a fine man and a giving deacon. May he now be enjoying the Eternal Reward he so richly deserves.
First of all, I don’t even know really where to begin on seeing the passing of my precious Joe Lucia. The Lucia family was always a godsend to me. One thing I can remember mostly is when I was alone at Christmas one time both Joe and Mary Jane invited me into their home for a feast and I mean it was a feast.!!! Joe was also my choir director and how good at music he was in that beautiful voice. We did go on some trips together and we had a ball. I never forgot you, Joe and your family how good they were to me God bless me with you. May you rest in peace of our Lord Jesus Christ, Joe… and God bless you for all you did for me along with your family
Condolences to his family and extended family.
