Charles Ellsworth “Chuck” Franklin, 78, of Warren, PA, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at his home following a lengthy illness.

He was born March 28, 1937 in Warren, PA, a son to the late Willard and Louise Knopf Franklin. After graduating in 1956 from Warren Area High School, he served the next 4 years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Detector, MSO-429. Chuck loved working in his work shop making stools, tables and anything he could do with his hands. He was very knowledgeable in everything from building a house; repairing, plumbing, electrically and painting. He took pride in everything he did and nothing was too much for him to do. Chuck loved to hunt in his earlier years and was an avid golfer up until his illness. He loved traveling in his RV over the years with his family and granddaughter.

Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Marlene Manning Franklin, a granddaughter, Samantha Franklin of Cary, NC, who was also the love of his life, a brother, Freeman (Jackie) Franklin and a sister, Gloria Hancock, of Warren, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Scott C. Franklin in 1998, a daughter, Sherri Franklin Crissman in 2002, and a sister, Joanne Wiltsie.
