Barbara Ann Burgason, 90, died peacefully at Warren Manor on Saturday, September 19, 2015 where she had resided for the past 3 years.

Barbara was born in Kinzua, PA on November 17, 1924, the daughter of Esther Burgason. The family moved to Sheffield and Barb resided in the family home until her admission to Warren Manor.

A graduate of Sheffield High School, Barbara continued her education with a post-secondary business degree. Employed at Sylvania in the accounting department, Barbara spent many years dealing with the fiscal affairs of the company. Barbara and her friends enjoyed traveling, both within the United States and internationally. She also played golf, was an avid reader, and was a staunch member of Bethany Lutheran Church throughout her life, serving on the church council as secretary, Altar Guild secretary, and as a soprano in the choir.

From its inception, Barbara was the secretary-treasurer of the Keystone Water Authority until her retirement in 2011. She was noted for her delicious Swedish rye bread and rolls and was a skilled cook and baker.

Barbara is survived by cousins; Jan Phinney of Sheffield, PA and Earlene Peterson of Sanford, SC. She was preceded in death by her mother, her Aunts – Helen, Agnes, Nellie, Ebba, Margaret (in infancy), Uncles – Raymond, Roy “Rusty”, Carl and Ed, and her cousins, Carla Lewis, Jill Fraser and Burdette Burgason.

Friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Bethany Lutheran Church, 110 Church Street, Sheffield, PA with Rev. Jeff Ewing officiating. Interment will be in Sheffield Cemetery.
