Yvonne Faye Miller Bearfield Lee, 91, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at her residence in Warren, PA. with her daughter by her side. Mrs. Lee was born in Warren, PA., on February 9, 1929 to Edward Raymond and Vera Janet Francis Hall Miller. Mrs. Lee graduated from Warren High School in 1947. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Edinboro State College in 1971. She taught for 31 years at Irvine and Lander Elementary Schools. She was listed twice in Who’s Who in American Teachers. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She was a member of the Hill and Dale Garden Club and Penn State Master Gardener. Mrs. Lee was also an active member of the Lakewood Antique Study Club and organized and participated in their outings. She regularly volunteered at Warren General Hospital. She was a leader with Warren’s Religious Education Release Time Bible Study. Mrs. Lee was a volunteer Bible Study Leader at the Rouse Home, taught children’s Sunday School at her church, organized and helped lead Vacation Bible School, and was a member of. the Christian Women’s Association. She became a member of Bethlehem Covenant church in the early 1970’s after being a member of the Grace United Methodist Church for many years. Mrs. Lee was also an active member of the Hill Top Spinners of PA and NY, and she enjoyed spinning, weaving and knitting. She was a member of the Warren Club. For over 25 years, she directed and volunteered as a tutor with the Warren County Literacy Program. Mrs. Lee particularly enjoyed studying her Bible and actively participating in her church. She spent many happy hours working on her flowers at home and with the Garden Club. Mrs. Lee especially delighted in keeping up her friendships with other retired teachers, her high school classmates, and other friends from her church and the organizations that she attended. She found volunteer work to be very meaningful. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping, leading a Girl Scout Troop, and especially riding motorcycles with her husband, Edward. She loved her dog, Sandy, and kept a number of canaries. Mrs. Lee actively shared her faith in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior with everyone whose life touched hers. She has gone to be with her husband, her daughter, and her grandson, and invites anyone who has not given their hearts and lives to the Lord to take this opportunity to do so.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lee was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carl Lee, her daughter, Denise Faye Meyers, her grandson, Patrick John Weatherby, her son-in-laws, Willard (Terry) Randall Weatherby and Al Reese and 2 Sisters – Claudia Homberg and Phyllis Maze.

She is survived by her daughters, Murilyn Bearfield Pugh (Tom) of Durham, N.C., Vea-Marie Gerry Ion (Brad) of Warren, PA., Lorie L. Bearfield of Edinboro, PA., her sister, Patricia VanCise (Steve) of Warren, PA., her son-in-law, Rob Meyers of Russell, PA., her grandchildren, Willard Daniel Weatherby (Ruby), Amy Faye Weatherby Johnson (Jeremiah), Katie Marie Schuyler (Tyler), Jathan Samuel Pugh, Joshua Leaner Pugh, great grandchildren, Peyton Faye Johnson, Luke Benjamin Johnson, Daisy Denise Johnson, Poppy Denise Retterer, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition, Lorie, Mrs. Lee’s youngest daughter would like to express her heartfelt gratitude to Jen, Lauren, Tracey, Kirstin, Amanda of Darlings Home Health Care of Warren, PA., along with Ascera Care (Waterford, PA.) Becky, Melanie, Laurie, Melody, Tracey, Julian, Angie, Jen and Stacey. Further, Lori, would like to thank her friends from Edinboro and all of Mrs. Lee’s long-time friends from Warren, PA. that gave their love and support over the past 15 months.

Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Monday, October 26, 2020 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. with a funeral and committal service to follow by Rev. James Swanson, Pastor of Pleasant Community Church, officiating. CDC guidelines of masks and 6 feet social distancing will be observed. Interment will be in Maultby Cemetery in Grand Valley, PA at the convenience of the family.
