Wanda D. Spires, 78, of Warren, PA, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at Kinzua Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born April 4, 1946, in Paris, France, the daughter of the late Andrew P. and Janina Rataji Gurdak. Wanda was a 1964 graduate of Youngsville High School, after she went on to become a Registered Nurse. Wanda was employed by Warren State Hospital for many years and then retired from the Rouse Home in Youngsville.
Wanda enjoyed cooking and baking for her family, traveling, crocheting, and was an avid reader.
Surviving is her daughter, Michelle Swab of Warren, PA; four brothers, Joseph Gurdak and wife Susan, Paul Gurdak and wife Karen, Walter Gurdak and wife Sue, and Kim Gurdak and wife Kathy; one sister, Mary Lee Gurdak Stenstrom and husband Stephen; three grandchildren, Dominick and Sierra Syphertt, and Trekia Swab; six great grandchildren, Drake, Hadley, Adelyn, Nova, Ava, and Rilyn.
In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her brother, Andrew P. Gurdak Jr. and two daughters, Melissa Swab and Janine Lang, and one grandson, Zachery Swab.
Graveside services will be held on Friday May 17, 2024, at 12:30 pm in St. Joseph Cemetery, 111 Mohawk Ave., Warren PA, with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, pastor of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiating. E-mail condolences may be sent by visiting by www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com. The Donald E.
