Veronica Hoden Bulicz, 90, of Sheffield, PA died Friday, July 4, 2014 at Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA. Born on December 1, 1923 in Sheffield, PA she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Koval Hoden. Veronica was a 1941 graduate of Sheffield high School. She had been employed with the former Acme Markets in the meat and deli departments for 15 years. She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church and St. Michael Greek Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of the Americas, and the Sheffield V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Veronica was an avid baker, especially of wedding cakes and had catered many weddings.
Surviving are three children, John J. Bulicz and his wife, Kathy, of Anderson, SC, Kathleen Cawley of Bolivar, NY, and Thomas A. Bulicz and his wife, Julie, of Sheffield, PA, 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Anna Simonsen of Warren, PA, and Martha Paris of Sheffield, PA, two brothers, George Hoden and his wife, Beverly, of Englewood, FL and Robert Hoden and his wife, Sue of Sheffield, PA and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Veronica was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph S. Bulicz, whom she married on May 11, 1946 in St. Michael’s Greek Catholic Church, Sheffield, PA, and who died on July 4, 1985. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Matthew, Mary, Steve, John Hoden, Eva Bauman, Olga Malissa and Katherine Mucha.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. A vigil service will be conducted at 8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at St. Anthony of Padua R.C. Church, 7222 Route 6, Sheffield, PA, with Fr. John R.
