Thomas R. Peterson, 88, of North Warren, PA, went to be with our Lord on Thursday December 26, 2024, in the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House, after an extended illness.

Tom was born on July 19, 1936, in Nansen, McKean County, PA, the son of the late Oscar R. and Mary E. Weaver Peterson. He was a Warren County resident for the last 65 years. After moving to North Warren, Tom began his employment career with the Warren Water Company which eventually became the Pennsylvania American Water Company a subsidiary of the American Water System. After 41 years he retired as Warren and Kane’s facility manager. He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, in Warren. Tom was an avid bowler, enjoyed hunting and fishing, trap shooting, snowmobiling, camping and boating, and spending time with his family and friends. In his youth he held the Pennsylvania state record for several years for trapping the largest beaver.Tom is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Florence T. Sorg Peterson whom he married on February 19, 1955, in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife, Tom is survived by his three children, Thomas G. Peterson and wife Frances of Brentwood, CA, James R. Peterson and wife Virginia of Concord, CA, and Mary E. (Lisa) Johnson and husband Gary of Clarendon, PA; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Peterson, Gerald Peterson, and Shirley Peterson Fraser.

Family will receive friends on Friday February 7, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 am, in St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Ave. W, Warren, PA. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am in the church with the Rev. Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery, Kane, PA.
