Sylvia Woodruff Anderson, 89, of Warren, PA., died peacefully Wednesday evening, December 8, 2021, with family at her side, at the Rouse Home, Youngsville, PA. Sylvia was born July 13, 1932, in Warren, PA. She was the daughter of Joseph and Ruth Dickinson Woodruff. Sylvia was a lifelong Warren area resident. She was a 1949 graduate of Warren High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Edinboro State College. She was employed as a School Teacher with the Warren County School District, retiring in 1993 after a 21- year teaching career. She was a member of Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church, the church altar guild, and a choir member. She also belonged to the Association of University Women, Warren Antique Study Club, Warren Garden Club, Circle 8 Square Dancing Group, Warren Retired Teachers Association. She was an avid knitter, sewer, quilter and enjoyed reading.
Sylvia is survived by her 4 children, Gary Anderson, Ellen Scalise, Emily Cassidy and husband, James, Kristen Baughman and husband, Brian, 1 Brother – David Woodruff of Euclid, Ohio, 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren, several nieces, nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, C. William Anderson who died February 11, 2013, whom she married August 1, 1953, in Warren, PA.
Friends may call at Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church Parlors, 444 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 1 to 2 P.M. when a Memorial and Committal Service will be conducted with The Rev. Dr. Matthew R. Scott, Vicar, officiating. Entombment will be in the church columbarium.
