Sharon Lee Birtcil, 61, of Lakewood, N.Y and formerly of Warren, PA., died Thursday, November 21, 2019 at UPMC Hamot, Erie, PA. She was born September 18, 1958 in Warren, PA. Sharon was raised in Warren and was a Lakewood, NY resident most of her adult life. She was a 1976 graduate of Warren Area High School and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Fredonia State University. She was employed as a mental health professional at W.C.A. Hospital, The Resource Center and other mental health agencies. She is remembered fondly by her family as a girl with a great sense of humor. She loved her cats and photography.
She is survived by her mother, Katie Hoffman Hottel, her father, Gary Birtcil and Stepmother, Sharon, her sister, Shelby Heeter all of Russell, PA., 2 Stepbrothers – David Hottel of Melbourne, FL., Jim Hottel and wife, Grace of Goodyear, AZ., 1 Stepsister – Laurie Pangborn and husband, Larry of St. Peters, Missouri, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Gary Hottel, paternal grandmother, Blanda Birtcil.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Thompson Hill Cemetery, Russell, PA., Those wishing to place memorials may do so through the Chautauqua County Humane Society, 2825 Strunk Road, Jamestown, New York 14701.
