Ruth Derr Williams, 87, of Warren, PA. passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday morning, April 23, 2015 at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice Home. She was born October 29, 1927 in Warren, OH to the late Mark L. and Ethel Wadding Derr. Ruth was a Warren, PA. resident since 1954 and a former resident of Punxsutawney, PA. She was employed for 18 years with the former G.T.E. Sylvania.
Ruth was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church for more than 60 years, and a former member of the church dinner committee.
Ruth’s greatest treasure in life was her family, especially her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Eugene M. Williams who died November 11, 2003 whom she married June 5, 1948 in Punxsutawney, PA., 1 Son – Greg G. Williams, 1 Granddaughter – Jennifer A. Williams, and her brother – George Derr.
She is survived by her children – Christine Williams, Monona, WI., Kathleen Morris and husband, Frank of McLean, VA., Mark Williams of Warren, PA., Gary Williams of Sugarland, TX., Kevin Williams and wife, Cathy, of Clarks Summit, PA., Vincent Williams and wife, Tracy of Charlottesville, VA., and Shawn Williams and wife, Becky of Russell, PA; 14 Grandchildren – Shaley Williams, Danielle Berg, Charles and Alex Morris, Mathew and Ashton Williams, Abby and Ian Williams, Mariah and Derek Williams, Stephanie Huntoon, and Mariette and Jacob Williams. 1 Great Grandchild – Isabella Williams.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Monday, April 27, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., Fr. Raymond Gramata, Pastor of St. Bernard R.C. Church, Bradford, PA., longtime family friend, officiating. There will be no visitation hours observed. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
