Ruth B. Cobb, 89, of Warren, PA died Monday, February 3, 2014 at Golden LivingCenter – Kinzua, in Warren, PA.
Ruth was born on November 6, 1924 in Pittsburgh, PA the daughter of the late Clyde J. and Dorothy Bosin Simonsen. She was a graduate of Thiel College and lived most of her life in Warren. She was a homemaker and also helped her husband at his business, Cobb’s Wallpaper and Paint, Inc., doing a little bit of everything. Ruth was a member of First Lutheran Church in Warren where she was a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of the Warren Woman’s Club, Philomel Club, and the antique study club.
Ruth is survived by her a daughter, Diane (Dick) Smith of Warren, PA, two sons, William (Celia Knapp) Cobb of Warren, PA and Dr. David (Sue) Cobb of Greensburg, PA, three grandsons, Jonathan (Whitney) Cobb, Eric (Aleshia) Smith and Patrick Smith (fiancé, Abby), nephews Jim, Jeffrey, Mark and Alan Torrance. In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Gail E. Cobb who died on June 23, 2013. They were married on December 21, 1946 at the First Lutheran Church in Warren. She was also preceded by a grandson, Jeffrey David Cobb, and a nephew, Jon Torrance.
Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, February 7, 2014 at the First Lutheran Church, Warren, PA with the Reverend David Blank, Pastor, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Pine Grove Cemetery, Russell, PA. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ruth’s memory may be made to the First Lutheran Church Building Fund, East and Third Ave., Warren, PA 16365. Jo-Ann and I offer condolences to the Cobb Family. Ruth was quite a member of the Warren community as was Gail. Saddened to learn of her death yet quite happy for having known her. Best wishes.

I am so very sorry to hear of Ruth’s passing. She was a very kind and lovely lady. My thoughts and prayers go out to Diane, Bill, and the whole Cobb family.
Ruth and Gail always had the most happy faces…always a joy to go in their store. I worked with Diane for years at Blair…another happy face, along with Bill’s. My condolences to the Family.
