Robert W. “Ebb” Chambers, 85, of Sheffield, PA, passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020, at him home following a brief illness.
Born on June 10, 1935 in Sheffield, PA, Ebb was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Margaret Moore Chambers. He attended Sheffield schools and was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served during the Korean War. Ebb enjoying golfing, fishing, hunting, walking in the woods and picking leeks.
Ebb is survived by his daughter – Tammy Farnsworth of Youngsville, PA; 3 grandchildren – Michael Gafner, Janessa Shepherd, and Jason Skaggs; 10 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; 1 sister – Helen Junod of Rockwall, TX, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Joyce Schmoke Chambers, whom he married on September 18, 1965, and who died on January 17, 2018; a daughter, Layna Gafner; 3 brothers – Richard “Fuzz”, William, and John Chambers; and 3 sisters – Margaret Latona, Pat Chambers, and Rhea Baines.
At Ebb’s request there will be no visitation. A private interment will be held in Sheffield Cemetery. Those wishing to place a memorial may do so through a charity of one’s choice.
