Richard O. Wolfe, 95, of Clarendon Heights, Clarendon, PA died Tuesday evening, September 17, 2013 at Golden Living-Kinzua Nursing Home. He was born January 23, 1918 in Kelletville, PA to the late Joseph and Bertha Shunk Wolfe. He has resided in Clarendon Heights, building his current home from scratch 54 years ago. Richard was a 1936 graduate of Tionesta High School where he excelled in their basketball program. He had enlisted with the U.S. Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant with the 610th Ordinance Ammunition Company, serving in India and Burma. He earned a good conduct medal, Asiatic-Pacific Theatre service medal, Victory medal, and Chine War Memorial Badge Ribbon. He was employed as a carpenter with the former Means Lumber Company for 30 years retiring in 1983. R.W. was of the Methodist faith, enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He always enjoyed life and watching his grandchildren play softball. He is survived by his 2 daughters – Marian Smith of Clarendon, PA., Linda Buck and husband, John of Sheffield, PA., 6 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline M. Beisel Wolfe whom he married December 14, 1946 in Herndon, PA., who died June 24, 2000, 1 son – Randall D. “Ted” Wolfe, 3 Brothers – his twin brother, Randall and John and Mark Wolfe, 1 Sister – Wilma Williams. Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. where a funeral and committal service will be conducted Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of the Warren General Hospital, officiating. Military honors will be conducted following the funeral service by members of the U.S. Army funeral detail.
