Rhonda D. Palmer, 64, of Warren, PA, formerly of Bradford, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, in Warren General Hospital. Rhonda maintained her fighting spirit and grace through the end of her struggle with an extended illness.
On June 18, 1957, she was born in Beaver Falls, PA, the eldest daughter of Anthony and Diane (Heglund) Prete. Rhonda was a graduate of Warren High School class of 1976; she also attended Warren Area Vo-Tech for Dental Assisting and was employed with Warren Dental Arts for many years. Upon moving to Bradford, she was the Parking Enforcement Officer and later worked as the Receptionist for Ed Shults. She came full circle and concluded her career with Warren Dental Arts. She was a lifelong member of the New Apostolic Church, where she sang in the choir and loved to socialize with family and friends.
Rhonda married Scott K. Palmer, on June 1, 2003, at their home in Warren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by her two children; Joseph C. Conklin and his wife Karen, Murrysville, PA, Jacquelyn C. Deveney and husband Matthew of East Berlin, PA; two grandchildren; Natalie L. Conklin and Kimber G. Deveney; two sisters, Anna Mangini and husband Greg, of Tarpon Springs, FL, Annette Sharpe and husband Ron, of Georgia; and two brothers, Bryan Prete, and Michael Prete, both of Tarpon Springs, FL. She was preceded in death by her youngest brother John Prete, of Warren, PA, who we are sure has been patiently waiting for one of her beloved haircuts.
Rhonda was a loving wife, a loving and supportive mother, and a proud Mimi. Her beautiful granddaughters gave her the will to carry on, likely when most would have given up. We will miss her joyful spirit, unconditional love, endless encouragement, smiling face and warm hugs.
Rhonda kept her faith to the very end, and we are sure she is in a better place where sickness and pain no longer exist. She truly is an inspiration.
“Shall I meet you at the fountain in that glorious, better land?…Shall I meet you; shall I greet you, there before the throne of God?…I shall gather with the blessed, lasting peace and joy to know.”
A Celebration of Rhonda’s life will be announced and held at a later date. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., Warren, PA., has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. E-mail condolences may be sent by visiting www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com
