Patricia Ruth Neal, 84, of Warren, PA., died at her home on Saturday, October 10, 2015 following an extended illness. Patricia was a strong, active, entreprenurial woman thoughout the majority of her life. She was most proud of completing the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Training and passing the certification. She was also a licensed stock broker and option principal who loves the stock markey and all the excitement and challenges of investing.
Patricia was born in Clearfield, PA., and graduated from St. Marys High School, St. Marys, PA. Following graduation, she attended a seamstress school in Buffalo, NY. She was an avid downhill skier. During the time she lived in Buffalo, NY, Patricia met fellow skiing enthusiasts at Alleghany State Park and traveled to Aspen, Colorado. Enjoying Aspen so much, she stayed on to work and live for two winters. Patricia also lived in New York City, where she was employed at Eiseen Ford Model Agency as a Booker and attended photography school. While visiting her parents, Tillie and Don Neal, who had moved to Warren, PA., Patricia met her future husband, John McGarry. Together they owned McGarry Photo Studio from the Page: 1 late 1950s to 1969, where many individuals and families had their portraits taken.
She was a lifelong learner and particularly enjoyed any new technology. She attended Edinboro University where she enjoyed taking art classes and the University of Pittsburgh in Bradford where she explored Petroleum Technology. Patricia also loved to travel and owned McGarry World Travel from 1978 to 1982. She purchased Cookies and Cream , at the Warren Mall in 1986 and owned the business for several years. Patricia loved the challenge of setting up and running a successful business. She also worked with her husband John in his brokerage firm and then in her later years had her own firm until heart disease forced her to retire much earlier than she had hoped. From the time that she became ill, 10 years ago, her daughter, Pamela McGarry has supported and cared for Patricia allowing her to live as full of a life as possible until her death.

Thanks Pam. I didn’t see this at the time of my mother’s funeral. I just thought to look for messages when I was looking at Lois Bartholomew’s page. My head is just clearing and I’m feeling rested. More ready to get on with my life. I hope you are well. My current cell is: 814-730-6256. If you have time for lunch or coffee sometime, it would be great to catch up.
