Patricia Fletcher Kay, 85, of Warren, Pa., passed away Saturday, October 12th following a brief illness of several weeks. Pat was born August 31, 1928 in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late George and Ada Probin Fletcher. In 1954 she married Thomas E. Kay and resided in Youngsville, Pa. for nearly 20 years and later moved to Warren, Pa. A 1948 graduate of the Knox School in Cooperstown, NY she worked in England and New York for two years before returning to Jamestown. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Youngsville. Pat and her husband Tim enjoyed travel throughout their lifetime. She was also a great fan of Ragtime and Dixieland music and occasionally played the piano at home for her own enjoyment. Above all she was a consummate golf enthusiast. Growing up on #4 at Moonbrook Country Club she was taught the game by her father and played her whole life into her 80’s. A lifetime member of Conewango Valley Country Club, and a past women’s Champion, she was also a 25 year member of Port Royal Golf Club, Southampton, Bermuda. Her last trip to England was to attend the Ryder cup. She is survived by her husband, Thomas E. Kay of Warren, Pa.; three children: Elizabeth K. Morando (Adolph) of Lakewood, N.Y., Fletcher T. Kay of Warren, Pa. and Christopher T. Kay (Lori) of Watertown, Mass. She had 5 grandchildren: Catherine K. Powell (Steve), Sara S. Schaefer (Jim), Caroline S. Allin (Case), Andrew T. Kay and Leslie M. Kay. Her great grandchildren are: Elizabeth K. Schaefer, Theodore J. Schaefer and Claire S. Powell. She was preceded in death by her two sisters, Shirley Irwin and Doreen Anderson Sorensen. A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
