Nan I. Perry Fischer, 80, of Warren, PA, died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Olean General Hospital, Olean, NY. Born on May 8, 1935 in Warren, PA she was the daughter of the late Maurice Anson Perry, Sr. and Edna Kunselman Perry.
Nan was a longtime resident of the Warren area where she was a very active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. She enjoyed knitting and was a member of the Red Hat Society and Close to the Heart.
Surviving are her daughter, Patricia E. (Richard) Lipka of Buffalo, NY, 2 step-children, Janine Nowaczewski of Cobleskill, NY and Thomas B. Fischer of Albany, NY, 8 grandchildren, Gerald, Melissa and her husband, Robert, Kristen, Danielle, Sarah, Katie, Ashley and R.C., 3 great-grandchildren, James, Benjamin and Gracelynn, and her forever friend, David Woodruff. In addition to her parents, Nan was preceded in death by her first husband, Gerald C. Mueller, whom she married in June of 1957 and who died in 1973, her second husband, Robert C. Fischer, whom she married on June 30, 1978 and who died on March 30, 2002, a son, James Mueller, a daughter, Michele Yung, and her brother, Maurice A. “Bud” Perry, Jr.
Friends may call from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, June 1, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 200 Pleasant Drive, Warren, PA, with Rev. Susan M. Scofield, Interim Pastor, officiating. Sad to hear that my dear cousin has departed this life. Nan was truly a sweet person throughout her life. Thanks for all you did for me when I first started my career in Buffalo in the 1960’s.
