Millie Brindis, 90, of Warren, PA died Thursday, June 5, 2014 at Warren Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was born August 6, 1923 in Gentryville, Indiana to the late Noah and Cleopatra Patmore Bender and has resided in Warren since 1945. Millie was employed in the assembly dept. at the former Republic Aviation Co. in Evansville, Indiana working on the P-47 fighter planes and worked at the former New Process Company for 15 years in the mailing dept. retiring from there in 1985. She was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, a volunteer at the St. Joseph School Cafeteria and the Warren Manor Nursing Home. She was a member of the American Legion Post 135 Ladies Auxiliary and the Ladies of the Warren Moose Lodge 109. She enjoyed playing bocce. She is lovingly remembered as being the rock and foundation of her family.
She is survived by her 3 children – Joan Rich and her husband, Richard, Susan Morley, all of Warren, Pa., Frank Stephen Brindis and his wife, Virginia of Mesa, Az., 6 Grandchildren – Jason Rich and wife, Heather of Erie, Pa., Bob Rich and his wife, Melissa of Warren, Pa., Dana Atwood and his wife, Noreen of Erie, Pa., Michelle Miller and her husband, Stephen of Waterford, Pa., Anthony and Jolene Brindis both of Mesa, Az., 5 Great Grandchildren – Meredith and Mason Miller of Waterford, Pa.,, Justin and Casey Rich of Warren, Pa., Soren Atwood of Erie, PA., 1 Sister-in-law, Cynthia Brindis of Youngsville, PA., several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank A. (Shoey) Brindis, Jr. whom she married July 1, 1944 in Evansville, Indiana, 1 Son – David F. Brindis, 1 stillborn infant daughter, Martha Louise Brindis, son-in-law, John Morley, 3 Sisters, 2 Brothers.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Monday, June 9, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 3:45 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Dear Sue and Family, sorry to hear of your moms passing. I am sure you find comfort that you were so good to her and that you have all those wonderful memories. When I worked with her years ago at the church office, we had some fun times, she certainly was a great lady.
