Michael R. Long, 76, of Warren, PA, passed away on Saturday, October 17, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, PA.
Born on November 19, 1943 in Warren, PA, he was the son of the late Robert C. Long, Sr. and Pauline Marian Pratz Long.
Mike was a 1961 graduate of Warren Area High School. He served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a registered nurse at Warren State Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 2003. Mike was a member of Warren Moose Lodge 109 and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to Las Vegas.
Mike is survived by his wife of 30 years, Patty Fedorchuk Long, whom he married on April 17, 1990 in Irvine, PA; 3 children – Shannon Long and his fiancé, Guinavere, of Albion, PA, Rebecca Okura and her husband, Sterling, of Salt Lake City, UT, Michael (Loren) Long of Hamburg, NY; 3 step-children – Kenneth Sharp of Warren, PA, Karen (Wes) Battko of Marienville, PA, Kristy (Duane) Blystone of Youngsville, PA; 2 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 3 step-great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a sister – Sheila Juliano, and a brother – Robert C. Long, Jr.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, on Thursday, October 22, 2020, from Noon until 1:00 P.M. at which time a funeral and committal service will be held with Rev. Marcus Briggs, retired minister, officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Clarendon/Sheffield V.F.W. and Warren American Legion Funeral Honor Guard and U. S. Army personnel. My cousin Michael was a sweet person, I remember going to Aunt Pauline and Uncle Mickey’s on the weekend’s and get to play and spend so much time with all the family. He will be missed Love from Gloria (Montanino) Browning
My cousin Mike was a childhood friend and one of the nicest men you could meet. My love and prayers are for Pat and his family.
He was so much fun to be around. I remember him coming to Wyoming to go hunting. He had a great time and we all enjoyed each other. Rest In Peace.
