Michael J. Abplanalp, 66, of Warren, Pa, died suddenly on Friday March 14, 2025, in the Warren General Hospital. Mike was born in Warren, Pa, on July 30, 1958, the son of the late Edward and Ruth (Lucks) Abplanalp.

He was a graduate of Warren Area High School Class of 1976, where he played baseball. After high school he worked for the Warren State Hospital for 35 years in the Maintenance Department. Mike also had a great passion for farming, he loved old tractors, being outdoors, tending his fields, and working his farm. Mike also had a great passion for his kids and grandchildren, he enjoyed spending time with them and teaching them life lessons. He also enjoyed bowling and was a former member of the Youngsville Bowling League. Mike was a member of the Warren Eagles Club #313, and attended the First Lutheran Church of Warren.

He is survived by his 2 loving children, Ann Knopf and husband Mike of Matthews, AL, and Josh Abplanalp and wife Tiffany of Warren, Pa; grandchildren, Cooper and Carter Knopf, and Michael and Jasmine Abplanalp; 2 brothers, Bruce Abplanalp and Jane, and Edward Abplanalp and wife Bonnie all of Warren.

In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his sister, Judy Donaldson, brother, Tom Lucks, and sister-in-law, Joyce Lucks.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday March 19, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00 pm at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc., 304 East Street Warren. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Jeffrey Ewing, pastor of First Lutheran Church, presiding. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park.
