Marjorie (Midge) K. Whilton, 85, of Warren, PA., died
Wednesday, September 21, 2016. She was born to Mabel and
John Keefe, September 30, 1930 in Boston, MA. She was a 1952
graduate of Boston University, College of Liberal Arts, where she
received her BA in Sociology. She was married to the late
Frederick Walter Whilton for 52 years.
Marjorie was one of the three founding members of the Warren
County Council on Domestic Violence, now called A SAFE Place
which provides a 24 hour hotline and shelter for victims of
domestic violence. She was an active volunteer for ten years.
Marjorie was also a member of the Women’s Club and the
College Club of Warren.
With a wide range of lifelong interests, Marjorie took up skiing
early in life and was an avid tennis player. She was an amateur
artist and active in the Warren Art League for many years. Music
was one of Marjorie’s favorite pastimes and she was an
accomplished pianist.
She is survived by her four children, Susan Whilton Agusti (Fil)
of Alexandria, VA., Nancy Whilton of Newburyport, MA.,
Kimberly Whilton Adams and Brooks Whilton (Ivy) all of
Warren, PA. Marjorie is also survived by nine grandchildren, two
step grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Donald E.
Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., from 6 to
8 P.M. The family will hold a private service at a future date.
