Marian L. Hook Nuhfer, 86, of Warren, PA, died July 8, 2016 at The Rouse Home surrounded by the people who loved her. She was born September 15, 1929. Her parents were the late Arthur C. and Esther L. Klepfer Hook. She was raised in Jamestown, NY and has resided in Warren, PA since her marriage in 1952. She was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School and was a private secretary in the Jamestown and Warren areas and retired from Warren General Hospital patient accounts department as a patient accounts representative. Marian was a member of Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, the church Alter Rosary Society, a volunteer for many years in the religious education department and was involved with the church luncheon ministry. She was an active member and volunteer at the Warren Senior Center on the river and was a member of their Bocce and Crafters groups. She and her husband, Phillip, enjoyed going on bus tours for many years and visiting friends and family. Marian is survived by her husband, Phillip J. Nuhfer, whom she married January 12, 1952 at St. Peter and Paul R.C. Church, Jamestown, NY. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2002 with their family at Topsail Island, NC. In addition Marian is survived by four children, Deborah A. Nuhfer Dorrion and her husband, Thomas, Jr., of Warren, PA, James A. Nuhfer and his wife, Carol, of Harrisburg, PA, Phillip A. “Pip” Nuhfer and his wife, Lucinda “Cindy” of Warren, PA, and Kenneth A. Nuhfer and his wife, Rose, of Clarendon, PA, Seven grandchildren, Cheryl L. Dorrion Benford and her husband, Kim, of Randleman, NC, William J. Dorrion and his wife, Amy, of Warren, PA, Jolene A. and Scott J. Nuhfer of Harrisburg, PA, Krystal M. Perrett and her husband, Daniel, of Sheffield, PA, Kevin A. Nuhfer and partner, Rachel Monaghan of Warren, PA, and Katelyn M. Russell and her husband, Daniel, of Union City, PA, Great-grandchildren; Raven A. Motes and Ajay Nuhfer of Harrisburg, PA, and Jalen Thomas Benford of Randleman, NC, and Matthew and Abigail Russell. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Helen L. Regenauer and Esther L. Klopher, and granddaughter, Denise Riggle Dorrion.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA, on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 4 to 7PM where the Rosary will be conducted at 6:45PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell, Street, Warren, PA, on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Jamestown, NY at the convenience of the family. Please accept my sympathies in the passing of Marian. Growing up across the street from the Nuhfers our family had many celebrations together with yours. Marian was a wonderful lady and will be greatly missed. Heaven has gained another angel.
