Margaret “Meg” Sabat, 58, of Clarendon, PA., died peacefully Tuesday morning, August 21, 2018 at her residence, after a 4 year battle with cancer. She was born May 16, 1960 in Warren, PA, to the late Chester and Kathleen Kiernan Walker. She was a lifelong Clarendon area resident. Meg was a 1978 graduate of Sheffield High School and was employed with Blair Corporation as a Senior Products Manager, retiring from there after 37 years employment. She was currently working as an executive assistant with Warren County Family Services for the past 1 ½ years. Meg was a former member of St. Clara R.C. Church and St. Anthony R.C. Church and a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She was a volunteer with the Warren Unit of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, she was a member of Jackson Valley Country Club where she achieved a hole in one. She was a member of Clarendon Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Women in the Outdoors Program. She enjoyed visiting Benezette, PA., bowling, canning, gardening. She had a great love and passion for spending time with her family and especially her husband, John who was her rock!
She is survived by her husband of 39 years, John Sabat whom she married at St. Joseph Church on July 7, 1979, 3 Sisters – Joan Baker and husband, Tim of Holly Springs, N.C., Patricia Hecei and husband, Rick of Warren, PA., Marcia Madigan and husband, Mike of Clarendon, PA., 2 Soul Sisters – Linda Currren and Carlene Ward and their children, all of Warren, PA., several cousins, nieces and nephews whom she considered her children.
She is survived also by her faithful and loving companion whom she called her kid, her 14 years old Golden Retriever, Sam.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 2 Brothers – Timothy Walker and David Downey, 1 Nephew – Adam Hecei.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Friday, August 24, 2018 from 2 to 4 and. 6 to 8 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 9:30 A.M. with Rev. Richard Tomasone, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Meg was a loving and caring person who will be missed by all who knew her. My prayers are being lifted up for John and family. Heaven just received a most precious angel girl. Remember her laughter and smile .

Heartsick to learn of Meg’s passing. I met her shortly before her wedding in the office and can tell you that she was so well liked and fun to know.. always bringing a smile to all of our staff and everyone she met throughout the years.. It is with great sadness to learn of Meg’s passing. The progression of life called her home to be with those loved ones who have gone before her and leaves memories and a heart full of love for all who knew Meg as being a fun loving, high spirited girl who always had a smile and kind word for everyone.
