Louis F. Rizzardi, 92, of Warren, PA., died Saturday morning, February 4, 2017. He was born September 19, 1924 in Warren, PA., to the late Victor and Rose T. Vecellio Rizzardi.
Louie was a lifelong Warren area resident and a graduate of Warren High School. Louis served during the Korean War, with the U.S. Army, as a Sergeant, earning a Korean Service Medal with Three Bronze Camp Stars. He was employed with the former Warren Components for 20 years and G.T.E. Sylvania as a laborer, working there for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
He was a member of St. Joseph R.C. Church, and the church soup kitchen. He enjoyed polka dancing and music, gardening, being outdoors and sitting on his porch. He is remembered as a strong family man who especially enjoyed his grandkids.
He is survived by his children – Shirleen Keller and husband, Gregg and Louis M. Rizzardi and wife, Penny all of Warren, PA., 3 Grandchildren – Katelyn E. Typhair and husband, George of Depew, N.Y., Morgan Rizzardi of Saxonburg, PA., Ryan M. Rizzardi of Hermitage, PA., 1 Great Grandson – Lucas A. Typhair, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Kaleina Rizzardi whom he married June 2, 1956 in Warren, PA., who died June 2, 2015, 3 Siblings – Lea Rizzardi, James Rizzardi and Angelo Rizzardi.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 from 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 5:45 P.M.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 Pennsylvania Avenue West, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at 11:00 A.M., with Fr. Richard J. Toohey, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery.
