Lawrence W. “Bill” Nicklas, Jr., 77, of Warren, PA, passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie, PA. Born on June 7, 1941, Bill was the son of the late Gertrude McFarlin Nicklas and Lawrence Nicklas, Sr. He was a 1959 graduate of N. Clarion High School and attended Syracuse University. He served with the U.S. Air Force for several years. Bill was formerly employed by Loranger Manufacturing and the U.S. Forest Service.
Bill is survived by his sisters – Phyllis Irwin and Darlene Bizzak of Kane, PA, and Lynn (Barry) Chandler of Charlotte, NC; also surviving are his brothers – Bruce (Beverly) Nicklas of Woodland, PA, and Dennis (Judy) Sturdevant of Sheffield, PA; and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother – Roger.

I am sorry for your loss. Bill was my birth father, and along with my brothers and half sister, who recently found me through Ancestry, we thought we may actually meet one day. It was a difficult situation at best. My birth mother is Freya (Melnicoff) along with my two brothers. Feel free to contact me if you would like.
