Josephine Louise Erickson LeVan, 102, of Warren, PA., died on Saturday August 17, 2024, in the Warren Manor Nursing Home, Warren, PA., after an extended illness.
She was born in Warren, PA on April 11, 1922, and was the daughter of Charles and Mary Juliano Cardamore. Jo was a lifelong Warren area resident. She was a 1940 graduate of Warren High School. Jo was employed with the former New Process Company and National Forge Company, retiring from Warren State Hospital in 1988. She was member of St. Joseph R.C. Church. Josephine was a volunteer with W.C.A. Hospital, Jamestown, New York, Warren General Hospital and the Warren Senior Center.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Erickson of Warren, PA; 2 grandsons, Michael McGraw and Matthew Johnson; 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Alfred Erickson Sr. in 1971, 2nd husband, Ralph “Cookie” LeVan, 1 Son – Alfred “Buddy” Erickson Jr. in 1968, 1 Stepson – Dr. Richard LeVan, 3 Sisters – Delores Cardamore, Sylvia Sandeen, Mary Elizabeth Schraven.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday August 20, 2024, at 10:00 am in St. Joseph R.C. Church, 600 PA Ave. West, Warren, with Fr. Richard Tomasone, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, PA. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through a charity of one’s choice or St. Joseph Educational Center Fund, 600 PA Ave. West, Warren, PA 16365. Aunt Jo leaves a legacy of good will and love that will be forever remembered. People whom she has touched should know they are blessed to have been apart of her life. She will be dearly missed.
Aunt Jo has been a big part of our life. We have loved having her with us for all special occasions. She has been a real joy to my husband and me and my family. She will be sadly missed by us. Love her with our heart.

Jo was one of my mother’s best friends. Her love, care, and generosity when my mom passed Is never forgotten. Jo was a very special woman with a heart of gold. I treasure the conversations and dinners that her and I shared. She is missed.
