John Edward Harkins, Sr., 66, of Warren, PA died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family.
Born on July 10, 1948 in Warren, PA he was the son of the late James and Ann Logren Harkins. John was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends, Nascar, especially Kasey Kahne, and watching steamer softball.
John is survived by his wife, Renee Gorman Harkins, whom he married on December 15, 1971 in Warren, PA, three children, John Harkins, Jr., of Warren, PA, Jason Harkins and his wife, Lori, of Russell, PA, and Patti Harkins (Steve Miko) of Warren, PA, 5 grandchildren, Audriana, Johnny, Veronica, Logan, and Richard, a great-grandson, Karl, three sisters, Barbara Bennett, Marie McMillen and her husband, James, and Cathy Stuart, all of Warren, PA, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a nephew, Joseph Harkins.
Friends may call at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell St., Warren, PA on Monday, September 15, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church with Fr. James Gutting, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, Warren, PA.
