We are sadden by the news of John’s passing but are warmed by the many memories of the times he shared with our family in Warren. John made a special effort to remain in touch with our family through the years, which we greatly appreciated. He left a legacy of loyalty to his community, school, church and friends.

John introduced me to the world of used books, mentoring me first at Allegheny Book Mart, which he founded, and after his retirement, through
many supportive and encouraging contacts and shared endeavors. He was an extremely knowledgeable person, with insights into all aspects of literature and just daily life. I will miss his conversations and his company. He was a fine man. My deep sympathy to his family and friends.
I didn’t know John personally, but I have vivid memories of his performance in WAHS’s Brigadoon when I was a lowly Beaty student seeing my first musical.
Brigadoon was one of his favorite memories and spoke of it often.
As a WAHS ’62 alum, I was several years ahead of John…but I knew of all those Lindberg brothers, and more recently – when in Warren – Patty Lowe and I paid John a visit. (Patty liked to bring John some of his favorite carry-out restaurant food). Although he was confined to bed, John was alert, witty, gracious, & generous – and gave me a couple of books…one was about Swedish cooking. I am so sorry John has passed on…and I send sincere condolences to all his family.
“My Deepest Condolences go out to the Lindbergh family, I hope you find comfort in these words, “He will swallow up death forever,……And will wipe away the tears from all faces. Isaiah 25:8. Trust in Jehovah’s promise of the resurrection hope. jw.org
