He was a member of Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society and a church usher for over 30 years. On June 14, 1947, he married the love of his life, Suzanne Therese O’Brien Griffin. Sue and Jack moved to Warren, PA., in 1951 and raised their five children. He was the beloved father to Kathy Couillard, Saginaw, Michigan, Karen (Tom) Wickstrom, Mertztown, PA., Betsy Griffin, Warren, PA., Dan (Mary) Griffin, Mars, PA., Michael (Missy) Griffin, Russell, PA., and grandfather to 8 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Suzanne Therese O’Brien Griffin, who died Thursday, November 16, 2017, his daughter-in-law, Cheryle Griffin, grandson, Brian Couillard, and son-in-law, Gilbert Couillard.
Friends may call at Holy Redeemer R.C. Church, 11 Russell Street, Warren, PA., on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., when a Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Fr. James Gutting, Pastor. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery, where full military honors will be conducted by members of the Clarendon/Sheffield V.F.W. Funeral Detail and the U.S. Army personnel.
