Jeffrey L. Gorton, 55, of Clarendon, PA died Monday, May 25, 2015 at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh, PA. He was born on April 6, 1960 in Warren, PA, the son of Jay L. and Rose H. Manno Gorton.
Jeff was a hard worker and was a heavy equipment operator for the past several years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed feeding the wildlife. He was a big fan of old cars and enjoyed the show, Fast N’ Loud and loved to tinker in his garage. Jeff was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 658 in Youngsville, PA and the Clarendon V.F.W. Post.
Jeff is survived by his father, Jay L. Gorton and his companion, Geraldine Knolton, of Youngsville, PA, two sons, Bradley Gorton of Boyertown, PA and Brandon Dickey of Youngsville, PA, three sisters, Ginger (Rusty) Williams of Irvine, PA, Tammi Nelson and her fiancé, Scott Gustafson, of Bradford, PA, Kelly (Todd) Kibby of Warren, PA, one brother, David Gorton and his fiancé, Vickie Saulsgiver, of Warren, PA, sister-in-law, Debbie Gorton of Youngsville, PA, nieces and nephews – Bruce, Brandi, Jessica, Dustin, Samantha, Nicole and Ashley, one great niece, Norah, and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeff is also survived by his beloved cat, Booger. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Manno Gorton, a brother, Jay M. Gorton, maternal grandparents, Samuel and Vera Manno and paternal grandparents, Gilbert and Emma Gorton.
At Jeff’s request, there will be no visitation or formal service. Those wishing to place a memorial may do so through the UPMC Montefiore Hospital Liver Transplant Unit, 3459 Fifth Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Donald E. Tammi, I wish to express my condolences to you and your family. Although I did not know Jeff that long, he was a great person. You helped him through his tough times recently and I know he appreciated it even though he may not have said so. I will miss hearing from you and Jeff. we were so sorry of jeff’s passinng. i met jeff back when he worked with me at mayer bros. construction,i bought a camp in youngsville, and jeff did all of our dirt work there for us and we stayed in contact since then. jeff was a great guy and we had a lot of good times togetherand sure will miss hiim. i guess god had a empty dozer up there for him.to his family our thoughts are with you all god bless
