Jay Anderson of Warren, Pa. peacefully entered heaven, on April 3, 2025, after a life richly lived as a dedicated husband, father, and son.
Jay lived a great life full of fun, adventure, and a great sense of humor. Jay is loved by many friends and family, and although he had a short time on this earth, he is now our angel looking down on us. As an avid outdoorsman he accomplished many successful hunting and fishing excursions and taught the children his favorite trades. Jay was profoundly proud of his children’s personalities and accomplishments. He also enjoyed going to the beach, walking in the woods, riding his bike, and listening to music. He went by multiple nicknames such as “JJ”, “Jay Bird”, “Juicy Jay”, “Jayman”, and “Skinner”.
Jay graduated from Warren Area High School in 1989, attended Pennsylvania College of Technology and became a Plastics Engineer at Osram Sylvania. On September 7, 1996, Jay married Marcy (Peterson) Anderson at St. Joseph Church in Warren, PA. In 2000 his Osram role was acquired by Tyco Electronics and relocated to Greensboro, NC. In 2004, Jay and his young family moved back to Warren to be closer to family and friends and purchased Mangione Beverage on Pennsylvania Avenue.
Jay was very proud of his native American and Swedish heritage. He was a volunteer firefighter with the Pleasant VFD and went on to be a utility Fire Fighter with The City Of Warren Fire Department May 1996 – September 2000. He was a member of the Warren American Legion Post 135, The Warren Eagles Club # 313, Struthers Hose Club, Sugar Grove AM Vets. He was the 2009 citizen of the year in Warren, Pennsylvania, awarded by the FOP.
He is survived by his wife Marcy of 28 years of Warren, PA; two children; Cara Anderson of the United States Coast Guard in Juneau, AK and Carter Anderson of Warren, PA; mother Linda (Dunn) Anderson; two half-sisters, Lana (Roger) Tripp and Terri (Munir) Chavla; one uncle, Nick Mangione; two cousins Paul and Joe Mangione, and many other Anderson cousins.
He is now reunited with his father, Lester, his in-laws, Bob and Marlene Peterson, and others family and friends.
He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends; he was our Rock.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday April 9th 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Warren Eagles Club, 2101 Pennsylvania Ave. E, Warren PA. Email condolences may be sent by visiting www.lewisfuneralhomeinc.com. The Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home Inc. has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.

I only knew Jay casually. Of course from working in the bar and restaurant industry years ago. But Jay always had a smile and a wave or a few kind words for me every time I saw him . Truly a great loss to our community indeed and especially for his family. My most heartfelt condolences to Marcy and the rest of Jay’s family and friends. He will not be forgotten.
