Janice Kane Hawks, 75, of Warren, Pa. died Monday, March 31, 2014 at St. Vincent Health Care Center after an extended illness. She was born September 30, 1938 in Russell, PA. Janice was the daughter of the late Richard and Catherine Lucks Kane. She was a lifelong Warren area resident and a 1956 graduate of Warren High School. She was employed for over 30 years at Blair Corporation, working in the returns dept. Janice was of the Baptist faith.
Janice was a member of the Warren Women of the Moose Lodge 109, Farrah Grotto Farrahettes, AmVets, Warren Eagles Ladies Auxiliary and a member of the former Order of the Amaranth. She dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren, her dog, Scrappy and cat, Boots. She enjoyed shopping.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ross A. Hawks whom she married August 30, 1958 in Warren, PA., 4 Children – Dennis Hawks of Warren, PA., Donna Johnson and husband, Craig of Youngsville, PA., Debbie Hawks and companion, Don Sturdevant of Warren, PA., Diane Hawks and companion, Kim Grey of Sanford, N.C., 5 Siblings – Helen Scalise, of Warren, PA., Raymond Kane of Youngsville, PA., Harold Kane and wife, Karen of Warren, PA., Dick Kane of Youngsville, PA., Nancy Lyon and husband, Bill of Warren, PA., 5 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Brother – Donald Kane, 1 infant Sister – Bernadette Kane. Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 from 6 to 8 P.M. where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday, April 3, 2014 at 12:00 Noon by Rev. Marcus Briggs, Chaplain of Warren General Hospital, officiating. Interment will be at Warren County Memorial Park.
