Hugh M. Keeney, 75, of Warren, PA died Thursday, January 30, 2014 at U.P.M.C. Hamot in Erie, PA.
Born on March 31, 1938 in Buffalo, NY he was the son of the late Lloyd and Ethel Schott Keeney. On August 13, 1960 in Riverside, CA he married Shirley Ann Raver who survives.
Hugh and his wife had lived in Warren since 2006, moving to the area from California. He was a self-employed painting contractor for many years. Hugh coached Little League baseball for 44 years. He loved his family and especially enjoyed helping children.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Patrick Keeney and son-in-law, Gordon Anderson of Riverside, CA, James Keeney and Micki Monroe, both of Warren, PA, 5 grandchildren, Michael Monroe, Amanda Monroe, Sarah Blackmon, Thomas Keeney and David Keeney, 6 great-grandchildren, a brother, Earl (Dorothy) Keeney of Warren, PA, a sister, Cheryl (Tony) Catalino of Angola, NY, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Keeney.
Per Hugh’s request services will be private at the convenience of his family. Those wishing to place a memorial in Hugh’s memory may do so through any local program or charity that helps children.
