Helene M. Mangold, 78, of Warren, PA., formerly of Sheffield, PA., died Monday, August 26, 2019 at Cambridge Warren after an extended illness. She was born October 6, 1940 in Evansville, Indiana to the late John and Marcella Lamey Mangold. Helene was a resident of the Warren area since the early 1960’s, moving there from Evansville, Indiana.
She was a 1958 graduate of the former Millersburg High School in Elbertsfield, Indiana and a 1984 graduate of Jamestown Community College as a registered nurse. She was employed with the Warren State Hospital from 1968 to 1999, starting the first 15 years as a beautician and the last 15 years as a nurse.
Helene was a member of St. Anthony’s R.C. Church where she served as a lector, eucharistic minister, taught C.C.D. and worked with the kitchen staff at St. Paul Center. She was a volunteer at the Warren State Hospital, member of the Stamp Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and weaving.
She is survived by her sister – Mary Ann Longnecker of San Antonio, TX., 3 Nieces, 4 Great Nieces and 4 Great Nephews.
Friends may call at the Donald E. Lewis Funeral Home, Inc., 304 East Street, Warren, PA., on Thursday, August 29, 2019 from 6 to 8 P.M. where a vigil service will be conducted at 7:30 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at St. Anthony’s R.C. Church on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. with Fr. Stephen Schreiber, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph R.C. Cemetery. Those wishing to place memorials may do so through St. Anthony’s R.C. Church Building Fund or Sheffield Food Pantry. Dear Mary Ann, sorry too hear about Helene”s passing…She was a sweetheart. Hear you are in San Antonio. I have been in Phoenix for about 22 years. Love it here, but still have fond thoughts of Chandlers Valley. Do look us up if you are ever here. We live right on the main drag in a condo. Do take care.
